This is my second BlogHer. Back in 2010, I was relatively new to blogging, and had some {what I now know were} unrealistic expectations from the conference.
But this year? I’m going with a few specific goals in mind. One of which will be to have FUN. And take lots of pictures.
Here’s what I’m excited about for BlogHer ’12:
1. I get to meet Wendy
Wendy and I have been online friends for… a while? I really don’t even know how we connected, but we did. Not only do I love her style, but I love her writing and her blog. She sent my son a FABULOUS gift when he was born, and I’d never so much as spoken with the girl on the phone. This year, we are rooming together, and I am sure we will be having a lot of fun.
2. Amber Page
Amber is another blogging friend of mine. I *believe* we met on a BabyCenter message board, as we were pregnant for the first time together. Since then, I’ve found her to be a sort of kin to me. She and I have a lot of similarities, and back in 2010, we roomed together for BlogHer ’10. Super excited to see her again.
3. Party with Pinkie Pie
Y’all, my daughter is OBSESSED with Pinkie Pie from My Little Pony – to the point of when I ask her who her best friend is she says Pinkie Pie. And that #Hasbro party I’ll be going to on Friday night? Well, there’s a chance Pinkie Pie might make an appearance.
4. Voices of the Year
Lately, I’ve been feeling like I need a little inspiration in the personal blogging department. I miss writing for me, for my friends and for my family. I am hoping attending this year’s Voices of the Year will give me that shot in the arm I need to explore my writing a bit more.
5. The Expo floor
The expo floor will be overwhelming and teeming with women, PR reps and swag. I get that. I want swag just as much as the next gal. But the expo hall for me will be a mission. I want to seek out and connect with certain brands – with my media kit and business cards in tow. I will be taking names {literally!} I have my elevator pitch ready, do you?
6. The Sweet Suite
More brands, more parties, but the Big Toy Book is sure to be a fun time with great views and great people.
7. Martha Stewart
I am SO not missing this.
8. Dressing to impress
I work from home, which means I barely ever dress nicely. Yoga pants, shorts, tees… you get the idea. But for BlogHer? I am wearing clothing from Gwynnie Bee and stepping out of my comfort zone a little bit. What do you think of the outfits I’ve picked?
9. New York City
I love, love, love New York City. I simply cannot wait to visit – it’s been too long – and enjoy the city itself.
10. Being done with BlogHer ’12.
As much as I am excited for BlogHer, I know I will be equally excited to get back home to my babies and my husband. Isn’t that always the best? Hopefully, I’ll have lots of stuff for the kiddos to enjoy.

I’m going to be going on Friday only. I’ll keep your cell handy so we can hopefully catch up
